Things I Hate About Flash
I don't hate easily. I'm usually a very forgiving and nice person. I use Flash every day for work, however, and there are things I genuinely hate about it. Maybe someone working at Adobe might read this, give a little pitying laugh, and fix them. But I doubt it.
- Undo. What nonsense. Half the time it crashes, the other half it takes forever to do whatever it is that it's doing.
- Non-standard dialogs and text entry fields. Seriously -- use standards, where cmd-. cancels, and tab or return enters the values.
- Shape hints. It gives you the impression of functionality, without actually giving you the functionality.
- Shape tweens in general. What's up with the random ease values?
- The timeline is a nasty piece of work.

SO IT ISNT JUST ME???? I have worked in Flash several times and I always ALWAYS come back to that feeling: FUCK IT!
Today I tried to import a winampfile. Flash didnt understand. I had to go thorugh my musicprogram to convert it into a wavfile to make it work. And I also had to fins the soulution in the net.
Flash HELP is a laugh. When I click on a help pane I am ordered to fuckin INSTALL some GLOBAL SETTINGS. I wont. I dont have the time. This is the only way U can use the searchengine on Flash helppage.
To find a matte sopulution took me 2 hours of googling. Define a object as moveclip. Break it apart (what the fuck is that OK I know down to vectors) and then erase the background. THEN make it a movie clip.
The interface is not like anything else. I can also jog my way around programs but not Flash. They should copied Director (where you for ie just clicked on a sprite and choosed Matte - done - Matte isnt a term in Flash so there is no webpages about it).
I hate Flash. And I found many pages. Im not the only one. Thank God.
